you're risking it every time you do it. but at least you're responsible and getting checked regularly so if you do catch something you will be able to treat it.

i read on here, can't remember who by, but it's more the stigma surrounding sex that is the problem when it comes to STDs and not the STD itself.

even using condoms there are risks, they are just lessened.

Sorry to dodge the main point, but the nurse at my check recently told me that there can be a two week delay between actually contracting an sti and it showing up positive on their tests.

So if you do choose to go ahead with bareback you'll need to leave it two weeks before you get yourself checked over (assuming that's something you'd want to do).

Having had a sporting infection in my teenage years I'm in no hurry to risk another, especially as strains are getting more resistant to antibiotics.

While I agree that not everyone has one, people get tested regularly and that condoms don't provide 100% protection, playing safe massively reduces the risk. In this case safety outweighs the amazing feeling of playing bareback
