I confess to........

.... Not really liking olive oil. Sorry and all that I think I have been overly influenced by the importance of that oil by tv chefs. I've tried a variety over many years but don't get the succulent taste of the food just a bit of a bitter tinge. I switched to bland groundnut oil and have noticed the taste of the food now, not the dominance of olive oil. I use virgin rapeseed oil for dressings too now...

So over to you - confession time... what things/practices/experiences aren't you keen of that is considered 'hip' and 'right on' by mainstream plugging and subliminal influencing?

To be honest, I think oral sex is highly over rated!!

I love to give a blow job and find that I usually get excellent feedback on my oral skills but receiving it is a different matter.

How can I lay back and enjoy it when most people need a feckin map to find the spot never mind hit it!! Only 1 guy has ever hit the spot and I married him. Oh and all these people who say girls know what girls want and so are better at it .... bollocks!!! (In my experience and humble opinion)

Yeah I read another thread about oral sex and agreed to some comments that it isnt the holy grail for me. I would much rather give than receive too.

Dressing to please is fun too but sometimes stark naked is such a turn on....

"Hummous(sp). I can't work up any enthusiasm for the stuff."

.

Make your own, tastes a lot better than ready made stuff.

I boil the chickpeas myself, as I do not like the tinned stuff due to too much salt in them.

Couscous. Shitty, gritty tasteless muck.

Seafood Paella. Cheap, nasty leftovers muck glamourised by bone idle chefs who can't even be bothered to peel a prawn.

Love olives but totally agree with OP ref olive oil.

I confess when I read your post my first reaction was 'chickpeas'? 'tinned'?

It was at that point I realised I should have said couscous - not hummous.

Sorry

Gritty couscous? It should be really very soft - I love it soaked in chicken stock till its absorbed all of the fluid with lots of roasted veg and pomegranate seeds in it with chopped mint and sour cream on top and big hunks of roast lamb and crusty bread. If thats tasteless I'm Julie Andrews.

I rest my case. You have to add stuff with flavour to give it...........flavour. Should be soft but never is.

Most foods have to be made into a recipe. Would you eat undercooked unseasoned potato rice or pasta? Theyre all pretty bland without enhancements.

Fair do's. Add them to my list as well [a bit harsh on pasta though]. I'm keeping couscous though. Vile stuff. Oh!!! And semolina - curse of of my school days. It must be Thursday. Double maths and semolina for pudding

Im still wondering who served you gritty couscous and how it went so wrong or how you managed not to soften it if you made it.... its foolproof. Of course if you dont like it you dont like it sorry to sound like fanny craddock on speed xxxx
