Another train fare increase. But many cant get a seat and are left standing. Personally I rely on public transport. But train fares should be a fare price and the services should be a whole lot better. Should the service be renationalised x

What i can never get my head around is when its quite they have loads of coaches at busy times only a few.

I try and stay away from peak times and mostly have pleasant journies also lack of luggage space.

Depends where your travelling how expensiwve it is and i find shorter the distance most expensive

"Hey, at least you don't have to commute in Aleppo :/"

You haven't been on a Weat Yorkshire commuter service recently have you?

But seriously, I don't think nationalisation is the answer either. I'm old enough to remember British Rail, which may have been slightly cheaper but was also just as crowded, unreliable and run down.

This is the 3rd year running they've disrupted train services all summer. This is a time when most families want to go on days out.

NW London

Maybe commuters should go on a fare strike. Organise a couple of days in a week where they Walk en masse onto the train without paying.

Unfortunately by not paying you would be committing a criminal offence. It was bad enough when I did it by accident.

Trying to get a train to London on a Friday is stupid..£200+ and that's not first class either

The train companies break enough laws ,have you seen how people are jammed into carriages ? Definitely overcrowded and unsafe

It is frequently cheaper to fly to a city than it is to take the train.

Go figure.

Nationalizing would not be the answer. Holding the feckers to account might be.

Money should have been spent on maintenance and improvement years and years ago (when it was British Rail).

Central

It was great to see Jeremy Corbyn sit on the floor of his packed train for 3 hours this week, from London to Newcastle.

Overcrowded too often and overpriced. If we want to decrease car travel then we have to take action to change those two things. Running them like the former East Coast service that was publicly owned before Virgin, would have been a good start.

I was always told when you buy a train ticket you are paying for the journey, not to sit on a seat.

train prices in the uk are just a rip off, even the shortest journey is over priced, have taken trains in many countrys in europe and the world, the uk is by far the highest one by least 4x.

have taken a train journey before in asia first class 400 miles, £12 one way bullet train. if i did that in the uk got to be in the hundreds if not thousands.
