Ok so we all know a lot of men don't set the ladies inbox's alight with imaginative messages.

However, are women also guilty of this practice too? Come on men, what's the blandest message you've had?

I'm crap at sending messages and usually send the, ' love your profile/pictures, how are you?'. Occasionally I'll come up with something witty, but not often - so be prepared lol xx

Most on the forum. It's not something I buy into though....imagination doesn't need to involve a lot of words....I could tell by his seemingly silly response to my seemingly silly message that we were on the same wavelength.....we then went on to have a decent chat....guess my point is first messages aren't overly important (to me anyway) as long as there is something there to respond to.

lf a gay guy takes time to send me a good message (even though l'm straight) l'll message him a decent one for his effort. Even made some friends.

If I send messages they are usually pretty crap to be honest.

It's a bit like putting your big toe in the bath before diving straight in!!

If I get a response, all good. If not, who cares

I've responded to messages that have been pretty basic but then I always read profiles before I open a message!

From non-forumites I normally get simple messages saying something about my pics.

But my pics are the only thing on my profile, so that's all my own doing!

So, if you only get bland opening messages it may be that your own profile isn't giving enough away about you.

My messages i send are quite boring. I usually like to recieve a well written message.

But sometimes a one liner could sway it if it makes me laugh and i can bounce of it

I word vomit to women (apologies to any ladies I've messaged). I always get a rpely though so I find all the "hi" messages from women, to me anyway, have been from fake accounts. Most strike a conversation about my picture or status or whatever, I'm rather lucky on the women front

Some people think men should make a big effort with messages. I prefer a guy who is natural with his messages. You are listening to the complainers far too much. Which is fine if you want to meet one.

Although the number of forum users is far lower than the number of fab users, I like that you get a far better indication of personality seeing how they interact and respond to others than just private messaging. I've yet to be stood up by someone I've got talking to via the forums, and meets have always been fun and relaxed, so works for me!
