Stay out of range and just go for body shots. The charity fights I've seen, people tend to go for head shots and the opponent is always got a high guard.

Good luck OP, getting into the ring is the best feeling in the world.

Not having full use of both arms isn't necessarily a disadvantage. Google "vagellis chatzis. He used to live near me and was trained by a very good friend of mine. He has one arm that was amputated above the elbow but it doesn't stop him. He was always told he couldn't do it until my mate took him on and he is incredibly good now.

Do you know how to guard with your shoulders, and use your jab/cross?

Google Kirkland Laing if you can be arsed, one of the most awkward but effective boxers I've ever seen.

Good luck and defend yourself at all times!

Kirkland is the brother of my best mate who took on and taught the one armed boxer

Kirk got head injuries about 10-15 years ago after falling from a 4th floor balcony. He also has dementia. He cant remember anything about his boxing career and doesn't even recognise his own children. He lives in a care home.

Forgive my ignorence but I'd genuinely like to know.....does he wear a glove/appropriate padding on his amputated arm so he can still throw punches with it?

He does have a glove fastened onto his stump. When i was training for my fight i sparred with everyone who would fight me, except him lol. He was far too good
