Life is too precious. And for those who have loved-ones, your life is precious to them, too.

So guys, please check your balls. Get your prostate checked.

Ladies, check your boobs. Get your smear tests done.

And please, please don't ignore unusual symptoms. Go to your GP. Forget embarassment.

This visit could save your life.

Yes, check your testicles for lumps guys.

My son had a lump, got told it was a cyst, 2 years later it's much bigger, finds out its cancer, I cannot describe the feeling of thinking you might lose your son to cancer.

Yes though I had to defer treatment for 3months as I was pregnant with my twins at the time they found it luckily the gamble paid off and it never progressed any worse within that time and I had two healthy baby girls so all worked out for the best

I found a lump on my balls spent the weekend crying eventually got booked in for an ultrasound (not awkward at all being a guy on his own in the maternity ultrasound department) but it's called "Scrotoliths or scrotal pearls" basically it's a build up of calcium and nothing to worry about which I was so releaved about (obviously)

Yeah I suspect I may have something like that as I've recently become aware if a hard lump on my scrotum. Will get it seen to. No point in worrying about it in the meantime.

I lived abroad when I discovered a lump and quickly got myself to the quack and after an ultrasound it was revealed I too had a calcium pearl and it was nothing to fret over. Treatment was two ejaculations a day for two weeks. I was with the ex wife then so it was the 5 fingered widows who got a work out.

Found out this morning that, after investigations for somthing totally unrelated, my friends'partner has advanced, terminal cancer.

Thank you to everyone who has sent best wishes, has shared their stories and been encouraging about screening. And for anyone who is not yet brave enough to get checked...have courage.

You are all amazing. Thank you.

I've had to have regular smears for last 4 years . Three years ago, I had a colposcopy due to abnormal cells and that was horrendous. Now back to normal testing every 3 years
