The only thing that'd stop me killing someone who threatened and/or abused my kids would be the thought of the effect upon them if I then ended up in prison at a time when they needed me. But it'd be extremely hard not to react. If it was literally a kill them or get killed situation I'd kill them though.

when someone has already caused death or serious harm to other innocent civilians and are continuing to pose an immediate serious danger. In those situations I would feel justified in taking what ever measures it requires to prevent further casualties. I would hope someone else would do the same if it was my family in danger and they had the opportunity to protect them.

H has worked in Dementia Dept's/Lounges in residential homes for 14yrs now, Papers go on about how badly they are cared for but for many the carers are their family, many don't get family visit from one year to the next!! that is until they are close to death & then see them appear..As they say you can choose your friends etc....

Nothing can justify pre meditated murder, no matter what they did, if you sit down and plan in advance to kill another person to me that's wrong

Self defence for yourself or somebody else is a different matter, I don't think anybody in their right mind would expect you to just take an attack, of course your going to defend yourself, I would never mean to kill person even if it was self defence but if that was the out come I'd have to live with that, and if I saw somebody attacking any of my kids I wouldn't think twice of smacking them over the head even though I knew it could possibly kill them

"Only protecting others.

Really?

If I saw somebody attacking my 15 year old daugher I wouldn't think twice about protecting her

If I died that would mean that person would carry in attacking my child then she would have to go into care then out on the streets alone at 18

So I would go out out to stop either of those happening

I wouldn't live happily ever after, even though I was defending my child I'd still feel bad I took another life but given the chose of them or me and my child living without a mum I would deffinatly be them

It's all well and good sitting nice and safe taking on a forum about what you would or wouldn't do.

But In a genuine kill or be killed situation. I'd say logic goes out of the window and instinct takes over.

In a situation That will almost certainly never happen - someone pointing a loaded gun at me and I was within reach of another gun for example and I got the chance. I'd have no issue shooting first.

Only ever two justifiable instances

1. Anyone using the term 'Can I get a coffee ' etc when asking for something in a shop.

2. Inappropriate use of an upward inflection at the end of a sentence, making it sound Australian / a question, when it isn't.

Police won't even bother passing these to the CPS.

Might as well join the party;

Anyone who partakes in a belief system that advocates killing others who don't believe in their brand of fundamentalist fuckery.

Anyone who believes it is right to kill a daughter who 'dishonours' them by refusing to marry a toothless pensioner from a foreign country who they've never met.

Anyone who believes it is right to mutilate their own child's genitals with a rusty knife.
