You see a lot of female profiles stating 'no face pic, no reply', and yet very few of you lovely ladies have them yourselves. Call me old fashioned, but faces are what attracts me more than anything!

(That's FACES not FAECES you sick little monkeys!) :P

Yes. Before I read a message I look at the profile of the sender. If it's a shit profile, I don't bother to read the message.

Yup

I send one with any first messages I send so I don't think expecting the same from others is unreasonable, even though my profile doesn't demand it.

Less than half the first messages I get have a face pic attached though and far fewer than that are sent by someone who has read my profile.

People may not have face pics on their profile, but they could have them in private. I don't care if people have them on their profile but I wouldn't get into a chat without someone without seeing their face to know if there was an attraction. Or reading their profile...

If I'm sending a first message to someone I shall attach a face pic if it's a "I like the look of you" type message. Why wouldn't I? I don't however demand people send me one in a first message and neither do I necessarily reciprocate if they send me one unsolicited. Just because I don't have one public doesn't mean I don't have them.

OP ~ what people choose to show on their profiles & what they ask of others can be 2 very different things.

I don't have public faces pics but I will send one if I like the look of the person who has messaged me.

Fabs is a learning curve, strap yerself in for a bumpy ride

I'm not complaining that they don't. Anyone can have whatever they want up or not, so I can't really answer under what circumstances it's ok, there is no etiquette for this so each to their own...

Absolutely, people without face pics shouldn't ask for them from others. However, as it's possible to have private pics, nobody can know whether someone does or does not have a face pic.

So these people the OP is objecting to may actually have face pics after all.

In the several years I've been here I've only encountered a few people who claimed not to have a face pic when I asked.

Most of those cited discretion for their job and tried to get my 'phone number so they could whatsapp one.

Without wishing to put words into OPs mouth but maybe he feels that it appears one sided in that the recipient gets a face pic without any obligation to reciprocate, but with a ratio of 10 to 1 against what's a man going to do? Scratches head!
