The PC bro's are ready to let Paul Hand have it after the BBC presenter made a joke that some consider homophobic.

Whilst footage of fans played during a pause in the tennis, he said "come on, let's have a kiss" followed by "let's hope they don't go on two bloke sat next to each other".

Not a particularly smart thing to say but not really homophobic in my opinion. Was he:

A) Making a joke, get over it

B) Spouting bigoted hate speech

C) Thinking something he shouldn't say?

A. It sounds like he meant it to be a light hearted comment but it's not really appropriate for 2016. It's certainly not offensive, just not particularly funny. Definitely not something for people to get their knickers in a twist over.

It's pretty inappropriate and insulting even if you don't think it's homophobic. He's specifically saying men kissing would be unpleasant to see.

Fair enough if that's how you feel, but keep it to yourself!

The BBC aren't getting a lot right with their commentators this year.

They have been accused of sexism now homophobia.

In this instance I think what was said was highly inappropriate but don't feel it was exactly hate speech.

I just think the BBC should enter the 21st century.

Maybe it was just one of those light hearted not really thought about comments that commentators come out with very often.

Either way people losing sleep about it need lining up against a wall and machine gunning.....

Why didn't he say 'lets hope we don't get two women sat together' (I can't remember his actual quote)

Benefit of the doubt he could have meant that the two chosen blokes might not want to kiss bit then if a male and a female arw sat together they might be strangers and not want to kiss either.

Perhaps a silly throw away comment to make but in this offended age you need to be careful... Fingers are poised to launch an attack at any moment for and indiscretion!!

As a presenter he should know he has to take into account other peoples sexual preferences among other things, But if I was watching it with a few of my mates I/we would say something similar, Not because Men shouldn't kiss but I would rather see a Male/female kiss or even two Women kissing, Nothing homophobic about it but just thinking like a straight male, Maybe he was doing the same

(Gentrification is the mainstream/majority displacing those with less power in society. "PC" is attempting to address some of the discrimination against the latter group. They couldn't be more different)

We all say something in jest or laugh at something which someone, somewhere may find offensive but most of us don't have it broadcast on TV.

Gentrification is a trend in poorer urban neighbourhoods where businesses take advantage of low property prices to try and 'improve' an area. If they are successful then the property prices increase and force out the people who were there before Gentrification started. So gentrification neither helps the residents of a poorer area nor does it deal with the underlying reasons the area was poor in the first place.

Political correctness seeks to eliminate certain forms of thought without dealing with the underlying reasons people feel that way. It claims to help marginalised people but actually disempowers them into the roles of victims, with 'enlightened' people as their saviours.

People are afraid to interact on certain subjects. Hence why mainstream politicians have been uncomfortable discussing immigration and got such a backlash about it.
