What was the first record you bought?

We have a record player............we kept it to play our "records" but its in the loft and we keep threatening to have a vinyl party.but hav'nt yet...........I think we should cus I bet it will be great fun

The first record I ever owned was by Benny Hill - "Ernie (The fastest milkman in the west)

Got it for Christmas, I think in 1972 along with a record player which had the loudspeaker in the lid (2nd hand as well)

The 1st record I went out to buy was by Alvin Stardust "My Coo Ca Choo" it cost 45p. Mind you I went into the booth and listened to it before I handed over my cash

After that I spoiled myself and bought some of the "Top of the Pops" series - remember them, they all had a very scantily clad young lady on the cover and contained about 12 songs, but none of them were done by the original artists - If I recall they were 75p - not bad for an LP eh ?

Then along came K Tel ...

Later in life I became a DJ - from humble beginnings
