Caterpillars

Just ordered mine.. and can not wait for the new family members to arrive next week

Gonna turn them into Butterflies,, should be a fun activity to do then set them free..

Always on the hunt for nature based activities..

What things did you get up too as children in the holidays?

I've heard there has been a decline in the butterfly population, so that's a lovely thing to do. I used to read, make dens, go out to Sherwood Forest, annoy my brother

Ohhh I loved making dens

Old wooden clothes pinched out of the garden and an old blanket

lol tickles me thinking back

used to sweep the muddy floor with a branch with leaves on it.. then try and cover it up with disguarded carboard boxes

Aw have fun with the caterpillars. I love them. I lovingly cultivate a small nettle patch for the red admirals. This means I get lots of caterpillars and they often have their chrysalis' hanging from my walls and window sills. I love watching them. It's amazing how fast they morph.

Have been crabbing twice this week with my little one! Cheap, easy entertainment. He would love to watch the caterpillars transform. Nice when they still get excited by simple things :0)

If you have a garden building little homes for wildlife is fun

The peeps and I recently built a bird house and feedee, it looks rubbish but the birds dont seem to mind
