Lots of people on here say they're drawn to intelligence and a good mind, so I was thinking, if you wanted to meet someone from here socially, just for an intelligent chat, then who, and why?

Sorry OP but define intelligence! Knowledge, emotional intelligence, creative intelligence etc.... I can see where you are coming from..... I hate the phrase 'looking for a sapiophile!'

I dislike the term to be honest. Intelligence is such a broad concept; I mean academic intelligence is what people usually associate the term with. However, one can be intelligent off paper even if they are not on paper.

It might the the teacher in me but I believe everyone I met was intelligent in some shape or form.

Do you wear glasses?, sorry different thread.

Think OP addressed your "concerns" in his question by asking why as well.

Yes i think you are right though, some of the most academically intelligent people I've ever met I wouldn't trust to look after my dog.

I wasn't suggesting he was. Know him well enough to know what he meant lol

I know what u mean though. Employers have gone away and left the dogs behind and I didn't have a clue what I was doing but I think I did it right lol

I don't know why people are asking me to define 'intelligent', I mean, in the case of the question on this thread, chances are you've already attributed that quality to someone, which is why you want to meet them - because you like the topics the person talks about, you like the way they talk about them, and you feel a face to face, live conversation with them would be something you'd (hopefully) both enjoy.

I like to think I am a decent conversationalist.

I know I am nowhere near the same league of intelligence of some of the people I have met.

What I do have is bravado, cheekiness & a love for life which stands me in good stead regardless of the situation.

Have you tried? I'm convinced the Devil exists because we have 13 amp plugs (as they were called when I was boy) Managed to master the dark art and then He came out with plugs that you had to feed the cable through the top part first, how many times I've wired the plug to find couldn't put top back on, grrrrrrr

I've said it before , it's a matter of physics - light travels faster than sound

This is why some people appear bright before they open their mouths
