Vanilla is plain. It's used to describe non kinky people. They like simple sex while kinky people usually have lots of different flavours going on.

It is also used by swingers and non monogamous people to describe monogamous people

I don't understand why vanilla is considered bland (for sexual purposes). You pop a vanilla pod to things to add flavour and depth. It's delicious.

When I was training to be a chef I made vanilla ice cream. It was the best ice cream I have tasted.

It's all relative.

I find the term is most often used by elitist types that like to think their sex life is better than everyone else's.

In relation to sex I am fairly vanilla in that I'm not into any form of bdsm at all. But the fact I have threesomes and go to clubs makes me a little kinky
