About half an ago a site member who had been to my flat previously ,has stolen my Sony tablet

Please be careful, he has now deleted his profile and I can't even remember the full username.

I've used the contact button I don't know what else that can be done and I have no pictures or phone number for him.

Just be extra aware.

Do you have anything like "find my gadget"? If so get it activated now an track it. Inform police? Regardless of why they were in your house it's theft.

I'm sorry you've experienced this. It is a risk inviting people in to your home or letting your guard down. Not everyone will steal from you so it's sad when it happens.

Personally I never let anyone into my home and I always make sure I have their number and name before we meet.

That is awful!

I don't really think the police can do anything about it, you have no details of the individual. Unless site admin still have records and if they do and the member was a site supporter it's not to hard to track down.

I think you might have to chalk this one up to experience.

We always locked stuff away and put any letters etc in a locked drawer, it safeguarded our guests as much as us.

It was anon as my profile name suggests , I've seen his face briefly when first messaged on his old profile but not enough to describe

What!? How can you not know what someone looks like if you have had them in your home on at least two occasions? Or know their name or exchanged any pictures beforehand. What did you do the first time he came to your house?

My reasoning was of course it's my own fault and that I shouldn't be on the site , not that it's the sites fault, and exactly what your saying harsh lesson , I learn from my mistakes hence the reason of removing myself

Madness of course I understand what your thinking, 1sthe time I saw a pic and he had veris etc so had no reason to think other wise and 1sr meet went very well so why would I question a second meet ? Obviously looking back I was silly

That has nothing to do with her post. I don't blame her for wanting to leave after being robbed,but she's not saying the site is to blame.

It doesn't make me nervous...I've been meeting for years and never encountered anything dodgey. But then i look after my own safety a lot better than the op seemed to. Why should others be put off by one person's niavity/stupidity??

Some people are very trusting. I've been left alone while people leave the building or pop down to the laundry room. I've also had someone lay naked and blindfolded on a bed,waiting for me in a hotel room.

Snap. When I was new is and started meeting I had someone very persistent use the who's near function to try to find me even though I'd said I wasn't interested and don't accommodate. He ended up parked a few doors down and asked what number I was. Gave him a number that doesn't exist and told him to come in the police were waiting. Now learnt to block!

This is another level of crazy! You would have to travel a stupid amount just to get in the right direction then carry on doing this until you got to within a mile! This is another level of crazy!!

He only lived a couple of miles away to start with, but was rather unnerving! I'd have no issue accommodating if it was solely my home. But although I can handle myself fairly well I won't invite strangers into my daughters home.
