Keys in bowls partys

Do these famous urban myth parties actually exist and in what capacity or are they what they are perceived to be.....just myth?

Stately homes and "well to do" types seem to be the stigma that surrounds them but are they actually organised? and by whom?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I've never been to one but I have been to parties with party games to help get things warmed up.

There are parties in Stately/grand homes, and we've been fortunate to be at some fantastic ones. Keys in the bowl are probably a myth, or at least very rare. We certainly wouldn't want to partake in it.

We keep getting asked the question by our "educated" vanilla friends, they seem to think that the keys in the bowl is how party's are organised and started, makes us chuckle but still gets US curious at times.

Would imagine the stately homeowners throw amazing parties?

Whilst in Mexico I witnessed a pool party, couples threw keys into the pool and the men would go diving for them. Kind of the same thing

I used to know a couple who organised swingers parties at a local b&b after hours (it was a pub so only had 4 or 5 rooms) .. anyway they and the couples used to put their room keys in a bowl and mixed it up that way ..

Central

We would need some very long established swingers to educate us. My guess is that it's myth.

It was yes. It's not a myth either, used to happen a lot in the 1970's and early 80's. The first one i attended was in 1979 with my then girlfriend. It could provoke some nasty reactions from some couples i knew, if they were not happy with who's keys they picked up.

It certainly was not the best way of entering the swinging scene

Too right. The 70's had some terrible cars. I inherited a 20 year old Morris Marina for a first car. Case in point..
