Please excuse me if this has been asked before, but I was just wondering. Has anyone here ever searched the forums (or know anyone who has) to find the answer to a question before they create a new thread?

Yes I have if it's a proper question or some advice I'm after...but then there are those days when you just want to start a thread for some unadulterated attention and give 0 shits if it's been done before

Ironically, if you search the forums for "forum search" you'd have found the answer to be yes, before you posted your thread.

I get that impression about many of the posts, but have no way of knowing if others found their answer by searching them.

Always. The other place I joined before here had properly strict mods and they just shut your thread if it had been done and told you to use the search button so it's habit for me.
