Would you ask a meet to chip in regarding petrol money? I have been asked and declined. The guy told me it would take an hour to get here.So guys what would you do if you had to travel a distance?

Hmmm. No, I don't think I would ask for any.

Reason being, it's my choice to travel down that far. No one's forcing me to so I don't see why I should ask someone to compensate me.

When I've met peeps if I travel to them they've bought a meal or drinks and when they've come to me I do the same. I'm meeting someone Sunday she's paid for the hotel so I'll buy the meal and the drinks.

Normally an hour away but I've travelled 2.5hrs away driving and 4hrs on a plane

I would only ask someone to chip in for petrol if I was giving them a lift somewhere.

Just my opinion but I reckon it's a bit brass necked to ask for petrol money so you can get to a meet.

If it was a big distance (100+ miles) and they offered, then I'd accept.I wouldn't ask though.

I travelled to Derby and paid for a meal and drinks, she paid the entrance fee into the attic and took a bottle of wine for us to drink. Most women I've met have wanted to go Dutch.

I went to meet a guy recently (not off this site, I already knew him)...He offered me petrol money, I told him not to be daft (it was only about 9 miles) and he gave me two big bars of galaxy....I felt like a winner that night.

I've met at least 50 people over the last 5 years that are adamant I'm fake and I've said right I'll meet you by KFC by the pines (it's right next to the m4) I say when I get there and prove I'm the person in the pictures you can buy me a fully loaded box meal. I'd say 'I'll give you £20 for petroleum but if you cum during the meet you owe me £50!' . Cheeky bugger!

We've travelled well over an hour each way before, paid for the drinks and a nice hotel because it's something we wanted to do and could afford it at the time. If we couldn't afford it we wouldn't have arranged it.

A friend was setting up a meet with a single fem, (they were a couple).

First the fem asked for travel money, and they agreed.

Then she asked for food money, or at least a takeaway when she got there.. after a conflab, they agreed.

Then she asked for a specific bottle of drink to be available, and they thought, hey, why not.

Then she asked for babysitting money for the whole night, as she was supposed to be staying over.......... suffice to say they told her not to bother lol!

He's effectively asking you to pay for the pleasure of his company, which is actually really insulting. Effectively saying you're otherwise not worth making an effort - or even a small financial sacrifice - for. Can't believe 45 mins drive would be such a big deal.

I drove a three hour round trip the other week, so did the person I was meeting ... and I was very happy to do so because I wanted to be there.

Is he driving a v8? A tank? Private jet or helicopter?

Is he also asking you to go half on condoms? PPE? Don't forget wear and tear on the tyres.

Doors he get a meal allowance too?

Oh and check he's put admin costs into the mix.

Don't pay by card, I believe there is a charge for card payments too.

And a 15? tip.

Everything has to be negotiated and agreed upfront. I will always listen and always say no, when I don't want to engage with anything that's just not reasonable.

I'm not a subsidiser of others' travel dilemmas or desperation. Men here probably have to learn not to try punching above their weight - sexually and financially.

Likewise I'm not refunding part of the higher fees that guys pay as club admission, if he shags me there.

Definitely a chancer and well said. I've never been asked to contribute, however equally bad I had one meet 'clearly state during meet' that he travelled an hour to meet me - which was more than his 20 mile limit, but he said he wanted to meet me - despite me paying willingly for hotel, sitter and driving 45 minutes myself to meeting point.

Needless to say what happened to him, and thinking about it afterwards just made me feel cheap. Lesson learned here too

I don't drive so it's inevitably the guy who will end up travelling to me. This is why I only meet local guys, 20 miles or so, as I wouldn't expect anyone to travel a long distance for me. Also think it increases the chance of getting stood up if they can't be bothered to drive a long way.

I nearly always provide the drinks and they usually stay at mine so think it's a pretty fair deal.

I've offered people petrol money, and made them take it as I don't drive or accommodate so they pick me up and bring me home but never been asked.

little house on the praire

"Yes I would insest, if they had come a long way. Or I'd buy the drinks, personally I think there's gonna be a bit of give and take."
i completly agree with the give and take and sharing. If someone has travelled to me i make it nice for them but if they cant afford to put petrol in the car they shouldnt be travelling. In fact the reason i want to make sure everything is nice and i appreciate they have travelled. Nothing to do with the cost of the petrol
