Crazy mobile charges

Right, so my son is currently in the Falklands, he only got there last Monday, his mobile is on my account as are all my kids. I called EE before he went to ask about call charges etc and was told the prices. My son has text me in a panic saying he's had a text saying his extras so far are over 700 quid. I called EE and this is correct I'm told, the guy told me he'd be better off buying bundles that would mean his current charges would be under 100 quid but they didn't offer these last week. Does anybody know if I'll be able to argue to toss when the bill comes in, as in can they back date bundles etc. Cheers

They should have your call logged when you rung and what you were told

I'll speak to my stepdad - I think he has a separate SIM card when he's over there

My boy ran up over 100 quid qorth of charges on ee. I only noticed once the dd had come out but when I rang them they said they could have cut that in half as a goodwill thing or they will accept payment in instalments. I'd already paid it tho so was no use.

Anyway I'm presuming if your lad is down south them he'll probably be in the military. If that's the case tell him to pay his own bloody bill

Thanks for that, he can buy wifi cards which I told him to use rather than make calls and texts etc but the stupid get didn't listen. Can we send your dad round to give my boy a slap

I'd tell them to fuck right off and then I'd swiftly change my network provider.

£700!

as far as im aware you will have to pay what ever the bill is, as you agreed to when you signed a contract to pay the amount, id imagine he has used data some charged at very high prices just for a few mb or minutes of it, my guess is data was never turned off. hence why they say over 700 already. i heard many storys of this, every one never had their bill reduced. as it is their fault, and not the companys,

always turn data off when out of the country. youd be surprised what data costs in parts of the world.

He's an adult as you've already agreed. Send him the bill and if he can't be trusted with his own mobile being in the military then surely he can't be trusted with a fecking weapon. Time to stand on own 2 feet methinks. I joined the navy at 16 and 3 months and by hell it made me grow up big time and learn to take responsibility for my own actions big time.
