tipping hair salon

I alway tip hairdresser as do my facial waxing..nails alway do good job but alway give odd change ..do anybody else do this?as I know give enough to pay for this but help tip trainee too.

No, all my years working in retail, nobody tips shop employees, and pay can be equally as poor.

We usually tip hairdressers, barbers, waiting staff, cab drivers and takeaway delivery drivers unless the service has been particularly poor. I think it's just how we were brought up as I know my dad always gave people 'a drink' and would appreciate it if anyone tipped him for a job well done.

We have some friends who work in those trades and know tips can make quite a difference for them.

We've never been in jobs where people would be able to tip us but it's always nice if we receive a little gift at Christmas to show appreciation.
