I'm crapping myself at the thought of this day next year.

In my late teens and 20's, I would be with my mates in the pub, a few old regulars in there would be supping their pints of Mild, and I used to brag that I'd never be that old!!!

How wrong I was.

That young juvenile brain of decades gone, knew fuck all.

Time went so slowly then. Everything seemed a lot more simple.

40 years ago today, it was my 19th birthday, right in the middle of the longest, hottest summer ever, ask your parents about the summer of '76.

This is my first birthday without my dad too, I think that's why I'm feeling a bit down.

Happy birthday. The first birthday after losing a parent is always hard. Your Dad would want you to celebrate today though. Can you do something lovely for yourself? Something you really enjoy doing?

Seriously -op - unless you're face looks nothing at all like your body then you look amazing for your age!!

I really do feel that, nowadays more than ever, age is just a number!

Your 'real age' is determined by genetics and how well you look after your body/health!!

Hence at 47 I look better than a lot of 30 year olds who smoke and drink heavily and never exercise - as do you!!

Stop worrying about the number - and maybe begin to look forward to a very filthy retirement!

Time we had swinging care homes and swinging saga holidays! I'm in!!
