In desperate need of a new hobby

Car audio is my main vice.....but blowing electrical equipment due to voltage drop gets expensive and I'm having to do 4 hours driving tomorrow to pick up a second battery for a more stable power supply

I paint furniture but I can't be arsed today unless I set the spray gun up.

Maybe it's time to start knitting or something......

anyone else feeling a bit meh...

How did it blow to a voltage drop, would it not have been an over current or voltage increase?

I'm not sure 100% what's happened but voltage drop is the most likely suspect. 1280 watt RMS amp, took the back off it and the power terminal are black and melted.

Fuses all still in tact so hasn't pulled too much through it. My stop/start hadn't been working too so it's all pointing to voltage drop.

Second battery on 50mm cable and all the alternator wiring upgrading to 50mm should solve the issue.

Basically prepping it to be able to put out 150dB with 5000 watts RMS

And just to add to the above the amp is 1ohm stable and was wired to 1.5ohm so everything was more than adequate except the voltage by the looks of it

Still...gives me an excuse to upgrade it again

You could start walking, does not cost a lot (even saves on petrol) and will help you stay fit. Of course if you find it a little slow you can always up the pace to jogging and for that extra adrenaline fix a quick sprint will get the blood pumping!
