Get you minds out of the gutter lol , we have developed damp in our chimney breast over the hast couple of months and it needs sorting out . We have had a builder we know look at it , he has done some work for the woman next door. He said it is a waste of time getting it done as he has done some work for her a few times replaceing rottern floorboards she has an old back boiler that has been leaking for years and the builder says that's what is causeing the problem , have we got the right to ask her to get it fixed . Spelling police please forgive me lol x

Yeah, we had our neighbours drains leak into our cellar. So it might come under the same sort of thing.

Since it's causing damp/mould in sure it'll come under environmental health.

You can ask her to fix it and if she doesn't the council will come and inspect it and enforce a notice, fix it or we will sort of scenario.

Brighton - even Hove!

Ask her. She might not know. She may be innocent.

Or

Ask her. She may know. She may be doing it deliberately and is as guilty as a lemon.

Ask her to get it mended. Tell her that any costs associated with your renovation will be claimed via your insurance on her insurance. Maybe speak to a solicitor for a free session?
