Fab? The forums? Is it one big game?

Just a little side conversation with someone made me ponder a little and I thought I'd pose the deliberately vague and unspecific question.

And are we all playing along to the rules of the game to various degrees?

Some experienced professionals on here at the top of their game, others just starting out and learning the rules?

Some making silly mistakes that costs them dearly, other seasoned campaigners wryly looking on and displaying a masterclass?

Team building, rivalries, strategies forming?

Or are you thinking what the HELL is he on about?

To an extent. But it's a very odd game.

It's like playing poker in a blacked out room with blank cards and a dealer who smiles *all the time*.

well i think (although i may be wrong) that the football season doesnt start for a couple of weeks and ive already noticed you talking football or football themed threads.

So my question is

Is this the start of things to come?

Does it mean i have to brush up on my football lingo?

Should i be to scared to pm you?

It's a very addictive game to me. A way to make new friends, read some interesting stuff and have a laugh.

I'm a newby and finding my feet, but I have already made some delicious friends which I wouldn't have done had I not discovered the Forums.

I'm not really aware that there are any rules....you can participate or not; you can comment or choose not too.

It's a fantastic way to flirt and get noticed if that's what you want!??!

I love it

I've realised football is more important to me than Fab ha! The run up to a new season is always exciting, it'll all subside in a few weeks when the reality of my teams woefulness sinks in

I'll keep the football talk to the football forums

Its a bit like joining a secondary school in the 2nd/3rd year, Some people try to stand out and some people go under the radar for years, Finding out who your new friends are and the people you don't like, But over time these people usually change, Some of the more experienced people give you tips how to get along and some just take the piss out of the new kid

Theres a lot of truth observed in your post, and i for one have made mistakes on here in the sense that i have thought ...oh god no one likes or understands me.

I can be a bit random yet my real life is very structured with nice peaceful weekends.

"It's all about games... 95% of the time tbh "

What is the overall aim of the game? For the majority of users it's to portray themselves in as favourable a light as possible I guess to attract their target market?

The forums are typical of the site as a whole.

Snog, Fuck, Avoid threads are classics. As are "look at me" ones and the responses they illicit - whether it be about cock size, ostentatious displays of wealth (eg the car you drive, watches you wear etc), what charitable selfless deeds you've done, which Forumite would you threads etc.

The way people are treated - newbie single guys in particular often treated very differently on similar type threads

I think we all play along either consciously or unconsciously to various degrees, I know I absolutely play along and that I am a fully complicit in the game most of the times. Every now and then I'll have a moment and play outside the established rules to varying results.

Anyone else aware they're involved in the game or is it just me?

I guess like everything in life we all approach swinging in a different way .

Yes it's a game , and we look at it as a very enjoyable pastime or lifestyle .

Yes , we have over time become pretty good at finding what we want , and if that means we play the game well then so be it .

We often find on the forum that we truly don't understand so much of what others say . But to be fair the forums aren't a very good place to find meets for us . We totally see meets as NSA sex , and occasionally we make aquantinces through meeting , but never friends .

It's a fickle lifestyle , true friends in this game are rare . But then again , it depends on people's perspective I guess .

of course its a game...a tactical one for some, but a game nonetheless...

people come and go, some abide by the rules and some don't..

a few talk utter shite, and some act like stalkers....

but most people are 'playing the game' of getting recognised in a good or a bad way, in the hope that they can crack the fab formula....

but all you need to know is 'patience is the key'

A few different games being played, by some... maybe.

some it is a popularity contest.

some it is a personal wish list.

some it is an ego boost.

some like to stir

some like to control

some it is for attention.

But some just want to have fun, and use the site to find like minded people.

Whatever you need from the site, I hope you find it.

This is a very interesting thread...... We have been on fab for years (big gaps for children though so not years of experience!!!), i have not long ago finally accepted that i am a swinger (so wouldnt have looked here before), I feel liberated (hubbie accepted it a long time ago!), i like people and chatting, and only found out the forums existed from meeting two beautiful ladies I met recently who are regular forumers, lurked for a while saw that people were nice, thats my story

I would say some treat the forums as playing fields, some to their advantage & some not ~ both sets people are highlighted pretty quickly.

I've seen some 'popular' forumites over the years start off very wobbly in the beginning, they learnt where they went wrong, changed their tact / persona & succeeded.

I suppose it depends on what you're hoping to achieve from being on here as to how much time & energy you invest in the place / game.

Great question mate.....

It could be considered a game or even a way of life or belief system in my opinion....

Are they guidelines rather than rules ????

1. Leave your emotions of attachment etc outside the play area.

2. The anticipation of attending the playground and see who we get to engage with and if we will be playing a new game

Or the same game as usual yet with new playmates.

3. We are ourselves yet we can play characters or enhance or diminish parts of ourselves depending on the game or playmates

4. We can be ladylike or animalistic - we can combine or separate

5. We can binge, want it all or be selective and controlled - a quick meet or a four days session - both can be scrummy

6. We can email, text, chat, prepare, meet, host, say yes say no, cuddle, kiss, stop or continue.....we establish more guidelines on boundaries or none.

7. We indulge and become the masterclass - do we graduate - is it sustainable - do we choose our time to leave the play or take sabiticals like I just have?

Yes it can be considered addictive or maybe it can be considered fun and healthy and maybe we are the sort that like to play games and isn't that a great thing. We learn so much about strategy and about ourselves we we care to look deeper into the experiences...

Yes, that's how I see it, the forums are just a community meeting place, and anyone who finds themselves at a loose end can pop in. Needs, intent, strategy etc will vary as much as human nature does, and I've days before I think we are all chasing the dragon......or running from the demon maybe.

"It's a website I use to find sex. The forums I use in between finding people I like.

That's how i see it....I've never been one for games.

So you don't play the game of the seduction then ? "

Seduction isn't a game,it's an art.
