"Iv been Cardiff the last 3/4 years in December for a day of shopping, eating, drinking and staying over for the night. This year is like to experience somewhere else, somewhere 2 hours drive maximum with a good shopping scene, nice food and nice hotels. Any recommendations? "Bath, as someone earlier suggested is lovely, or how about Bristol? Anything else and you're getting beyond your two hour limit. Unless you wanted to fly (which these days may not be much more expensive than petrol money), in which case Dublin or Edinburgh? Mr G" I did think about flying ![]()

"Liverpool if your thinking of flying. Fantastic bars clubs and restaurants. Lots to do. You have all the music history. Plush hotel's. Theatres museums and if your into the lifestyle clubs, you have the townhouse on the other side of the river. 10 minutes away. And lastly fantastic friendly people. Think I should work for city tourism. ![]() Liverpool crossed my mind. I always go with my mother and she is 72 so clubs is off the menu ![]()
