From September 1st government law changes mean that you must have a TV license to watch shows on BBC iPlayer. This covers phones, pc and all devices, including your TV itself.

If you know how it will be validated, you know more than I do.

It will probably be a registered process going off your licence number. Not sure how they will regulate it in households with a big family and 1 license? I see it flopping but they will stick to it for your money!

That's the thing - we have 5 devices that use it, 2 iPads l, one kindle, Apple TV and virgin

They are going to have to link it to your licence number somehow

Personally, I'm going to delete the iPlayer app and pirate those shows through Kodi.... Like I do everything else

Netflix produces content - if you want to watch it - you pay for it.

Why would it be any different for the BBC content.

It's not a lot of money - just pay it!

I've got a license and proud of UK television. I wondered if anyone knew more of the process of how it was going to work etc.

Expect the outsourced overpaid company that currently enforces TV to be paid even more.

It will be legal to use your phone for TV elsewhere, as long as it's not plugged in and charging, when a separate license would be required at the other property.

i never watch tv at all to be honest, yet i am forced for pay a licence fee, like paying for car insurance but have no car, is that fair?

When I called up tv licensing to say I'm exempt, I told them I only watch pirated shows and they were ok with that
