New 5k pb for me this morning although it was on a treadmill and it's easier to go faster on a treadmill cos if you stop you twat into a wall

Also just swam 100 lengths. Think it was a 12m pool so works out to 0.7 miles.

Well done you! I have had to stop dancing so have started another Pilates class to fill the gap. My body hurts as it is a different instructor lol but it's all good. One Jean size to go but top is still a tad large I have 2 dress sizes to go, so hoping swimming will help with that, time will tell as it is also a new routine for me

Very happy as just been weighed at the gym after 2 weeks and I've only gone and lost another 6 lbs. High protein seems to be working and lost 3cms off hips and waist. I'll be beaming all day now.

3.5 mile run thismorning then 45 min circuits at lunch.....question that i am too embarrassed to ask the gym guys!!!.....when i do deadlifts etc on a 5kg bar, does the bar weigh as well cos the one i was using today was heavier than the 5kg bar i was using for power cleans and the deadlift one is thicker lol

After allowing around 10kg to creep on in the last year or so (if 10kg can be said to creep..), I've taken the bull ny the horns and started a program called Kettlebell Burn which is targeted for weight loss. 4 weeks in and 2kg down, I'm pretty happy so far. It's a tough program but, in conjunction with cleaning up my food intake, it looks to be working. Onwards and downwards!

Still doing a very slow crawl in the downwards direction. Due to spending weekends at Kestrels and eating nawty picnic lunches, 2lb crept on Back on it even more so. After Kestrels season is over, back on bike and walking more as that has fallen to the wayside. still do Pilates 2 times a week and water aerobics and my lunchtime walks so not all bad.

Did a 30 minutes medium rate test last Monday on the rowing machine. Rating 24, split averaged 2:05,covered 7200 metres.

Got 10 weeks to get that up to at least 8000 metres, so fair way to go yet.

Had a couple of weeks off due to holidays, a little too much booze and food hasn't helped.

Got back on the road bike last night, 25 miles/1600ft ascent with an average of 18.3mph - hurt a bit.

My wristband recorded a max HR of 195bpm but they are notoriously unreliable at high bpm's. My HR strap recorded 189bpm which is a bit better!

Back on the training these last few weeks, and the shakes.

Weight relatively static but strength on my lifts is gradually improving and there does appear to be some slight fat loss. Too soon to tell really.

Taking L with me today for some basic weight training instruction. Expect great things from her for a novice, she's freakishly strong for such a small girl

You're looking well in your pics..

But yeah, it can be hard to stop sliding back into bad habits. No matter how hard I work in the gym, cutting back on the not-so-occasional treats is the only reliable way for me too..

Ditto.. I need to be organised about making evening meals in particular. Doubly so, because if I'm not, I also tend to snack too. Going to the gym simply allows me a certain margin for 'mistakes'..

Done a 2.5km less than 15 mins - actually 2.7km in 15mins

What that means is that I have smashed the 5km in 30min barrier which is good

First time I have done that for 6months due to various injurys

My legs are bloody sore today and I will be suffering tommorow in the office. Aiming to push it up to about 2.8km to 2.9km in first 15 but then alternate a 5km in to 32 to 33 mins so that my body improves pace but also improves stamina

My calf's and hamstrings are ridiculously tight. My calf's fo hurt for a bit when I start off but actually ease off the longer I run.

Stretching after is very important. I don't do it enough and get told off a lot when I go for a massage at work!

Also correct trainers help. Go to an independent running shop and they should do it for you.

"i did 102 (girly) push ups yesterday!!! really want to work on my upper body and be able to do proper ones!!!

my arms hurt a lot today!"

What you do is 1 proper press up per day 1, 2 day 2 up to 5 on day 5 or whatever you can manage.

Following week try 2 on day 1, 3 on day 2 etc ... Or repeat previous week, don't rush.

I had 2 Boxercise ladies who could only do girlie press ups doing 25 proper press-ups after a month. Stretch it to 2 months if you want but you will eventually be doing 20 with reasonable ease.

Seems I'm slightly less Fit and Healthy than I thought. I've just been informed that I was diagnosed with a (relatively minor) heart condition eighteen months ago and my GP forgot to pass the message on. Atrial Fibrillation and Right Bundle Branch Block. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't shitting my pants a bit right now...

Bad. It doesn't totally surprise me though, in this day and age. It's so hard to actually get a GP appoint in the first place.

Added to that they've got such time constraints to see the patient, ten minutes or something, that they're often misdiagnosing anyway.

You hear it all the time.

Very worrying.

i have had a rest day today and i am bored lol

have decided i am going to do a 20x20x20 challenge to do 20 x push ups (girly ones to start with, throwing in more proper ones as i go on), 20 x sit ups, and 20 x burpees (i hate burpees but they always get chucked in during circuits so going to learn to love them!!!)

will finish it off with 1 min plank.

going to aim to do this every day for the month on top of other training

I dunno if this is helpful, but body composition is 80% diet.

It's borngly simple, but "eat less, move more" mostly holds true. Most people tend to go OTT when they try to lose weight and end up doing something unsustainable. Try just cutting down what you eat each day slowly (NB - tis is easier if you eat mostly the same thing for breakfast and lunch, say. )

Into my second stone now, just doing slow and steady but I know that's better for me as I'll be more likely to keep it off. Measuring less on waist and hips, and doing more resistance work and weights now. Just need to keep inspired when the weather changes for the worst.

Tomorrow stars the glycogen supercompensation week, where you almost starve the body of carbs and keeping it low, whilst increasing the protein intake, then after 7 days you max out on carbs for 2 weeks and keep it above 500g.

"Why?"
Because I am on the anabolic diet, it is a 4 week cycle, where every 2 week of each cycle is that week, as by holding back on nutrition you set your body up for very good results each time. I like week 3 and 4 cos those are the bulking weeks.

I'm on day 6 of no alcohol. I'm doing the "lose a stone in a week diet". It's not a healthy way to lose weight but it is a great motivator for me. I do it for a week and then it's healthy eating then on. It worked before and the weight stayed off for a couple of years before old habits slowly crept back in. I am THE yo yo dieter!

It's always good to let go now and then as long as the long term motivation stays there.

Everything in moderation and you'll be fine.

Or just line up some post Xmas meets to work it off

Just where I need to be.

I got a fitbit. Given me more incentive. Run a 5k last week for first time. Trying to tone up and have more stamina. First time I have actually calorie counted. Well done to people who do this regularly as it's hard.

The calorie counting becomes sort of second nature. I'm not as religious with it now but I know the things that will be big in calories and can make decisions without having to read packets. Makes shopping a lot quicker

"I was doing so well and lost a stone, but with Christmas coming and all the social events that go with it, there's just too much food and alcohol around, so I'm struggling. I need motivation.

Excellent work! Keep at it! It doesn't take long for it to become a normal part of your routine. I find the My Fitness Pal app pretty useful for keeping track of calories (and you can sync it with your Fitbit data).
