If you had to live in a sci fi universe, which one would you chose?

I would pick the Star Trek universe, I like that the federation has eliminated wars, poverty, disease etc.

Which would you chose? And why?

Probably Firefly. It just has that lived in and real feel to it (y'know, apart from the faster-than-light travel and gravity in ships stuff)

Wow! Hard question...

I'm a massive geek (Red will back me up on that!)... And I've loved all 4 of the universes that have been mentioned so far...

Trek would be great - as long as we're in the 24th Century...

Wars would be epic - Rebel/Empire/Neutral... There's something for everybody!

Gate - Would I be in the know? This could be the Gate U and I'd never know?

Firefly... Shiny! 3

Matrix: Nah... It's cool and all, but after all that, I'm not a battery!

After all that... I'd have to choose the Assassin's Creed universe! Discovering past lives and doing par-cours? AMAZING!

For those that have read Peter F Hamilton / his nights dawn universe would be fun. Space rejuvenation and tons a sex. I would steer clear of starship troopers universe as there were a few nazi undertones in the film (and book)

OMG... How could I forget Babylon 5? Another brilliant show, overshadowed by DS9!

Obviously, I'd still have to stick with AC, but there really are so many to choose from...

To flip the question on its head: are there any you'd steer well clear of?

We forgot the firefly universe! The risk of getting raped and murdered by reavers is worth it for the chance to cast adoring eyes upon Captain Mal. Even MrWho would do him......

Star Trek and the federation appeals to my leftie sensibilities. The Firefly universe appeals because, well, it has Mal Reynolds, Kaylee and Inara in it (all of whom I would like an orgy with). But I would go with Iain M Banks and The Culture to live in over both of those.

Titz Towers, North Notts

Star Trek looks to be the most pleasant. Dune is epic, but a bit of a swine if you are on the wrong planet.

Instead, could I be a cyborg with expandable boobs and something that dispenses blackjacks?

You properly stole my thunder on that one - for anyone that enjoys Star Trek, Star Wars and Firelfy The Culture universe is a wrapping of them all. From warring planets and systems to go dabble in, to huuuuge orgies that are totally socially acceptable. Hey! They'll even give you the ability to swap sex when you want to!

This was tough

I want to be a sith. I think the movies show a very serious side but I can imagine them being total libertines too. The emperor must have partied like a mother fucker to get eyes that red, vader has a gimp suit and darth maul loves body paint and is really horny

And how good would sex be with the force???

I would love to be a fremen, ride a maker, carry a crys knife.

So frank Herbert's Dune universe is second for me.

Arthur C Clarke's 2001 universe is a third

And Angua

And Adora Dearheart

'Star-Trek' here too, but at what point?

I think, DS9

Although, the initial exploration of 'Enterprise' may be more interesting(oh , & it has T'Pol)
