wasp nest

So I've just noticed that I happen to have a wasps nest in my eves, there are wasps darting in and out all the time.

Now I'm not overly scared of the little buggers, so should I let them live for the rest of the summer or should I get someone out to destroy them?

Do they do damage to your property? I'm reading mixed advice on the interweb.

They do chew wood to make the nest. I used to colect them as a kid and use the grubs as fising bait.
