We have always wondered do winks serve any purpose, does anyone actually respond to them, we get about 10 or so most days and have to be honest have only ever replied to one.

Does anyone actually respond to them?

Not at all. Why would it be lazy?

From a single blokes perspective they (very) rarely bear fruit however i still use them as they have done... I use them mainly because i didn't have the time to write a long(ish) personalised messages which is what is usually demanded of us.

When i come across the profile again i would then send a message once have the time xx

Thanks I do try lol I can see why they are so mistrusted or have a bad rep but there are some of us who use them as intended. Sadly i think as the number of single men on here has sky rocketted they have lost their worth... Shame as it's in essence quite a nice idea

We use the wink option when looking at profiles that catches our eye. If they wink back we will follow that up with a message and usually swap some face pics to see if there is any attraction and take it from where.

Same if we receive a wink and we like the look of their profile we will wink back and usually then start messaging.

Should we receice a wink and don't think they are for us, we will simply ignore and it happens the other way around too.

So a very useful tool in our opinion.

... depends on whose winking - but yes I do respond to most ... some are shy and afraid to make first contact so a wink does kind of break the ice

Some of the ladies i know on here get 100s of winks a day and they tell me they dont even look at them but i font get so money so if i like the look of who ever winks i would reply with a message

I've never had a response from a wink, so i stopped a while ago, but I'm sure women find them useful. If they see a guy they fancy then they can just send him a wink and he's likely to reply if he finds her attractive. A guy winks a girl, on the other hand, despite physical attraction, 9/10 she'll see it as laziness and/or arrogance

It was an overly intense wink. Thats what happens when you wink with the wrong eye
