"Devastating or motivating?

"

Somebody else's judgement based on a snapshot of information.

I wouldn't let it inhibit or inspire me.

Best advice I've read; Comparing yourself to others will make you vain or bitter.

Am I happy with where I am? Yes? That'll do nicely ta.

Depends on what it is and if I agreed or not. There are times when I won't be good enough- such as for certain jobs. I'm fine with that. Neither devastated or motivated.

Edinburgh

*raises eyebrow*

*wanders off muttering*

I dunno the real answer though... my standards are usually higher than everyone else's so it's never come up.

I think there are better ways to phrase it to get more out of someone though.

When i was at college one of the tutors never gave you more than 96% her words "theres always room for improvement" it used to grate on me.

But it would depend under what circumstances it was said

"Depends what its referring to

No, I would never suggest that on the forum.

It's a general query about how you feel if you hear that something about you or something you have done is not good enough.

personally, I'd feel like crap and totally demotivated, especially if it was something I'd worked on for a while

Initially I would be crushed but I hope my fighting spirit would come through & I could turn it into something postive.

If I couldn't,I would then be devastated.

Motivated. I get a kick out of proving I can acheive things others say I can't.

I'd ask why and what more would be considered enough. If it was someone telling me my reason for not doing something then I'd shrug and fuck off.

From memory thats never happened. But I always tell my children one simple rule.

You don't have to be the best, as long as you try your best I will be proud.
