"I'm still on Me Before You, hope to finish it this weekend. " The film is pretty decent to be fair, don't mind a chick flick once in a while. Not currently reading anything at present but very tempted to start the Game of Thrones books!

You should do, only done the first book but great book and full of so much detail" I've read all the GoT books .... be prepared for quite a few differences from the TV show, plus a load more detail but they're fantastic and I'm getting so fed up - like all the other fans - waiting for the next one to finally get published. I've also got the Mary Beard book amongst my holiday reads to look forward to in a few weeks time, but right now am reading the latest Paul O'Grady book ... it's just like having him in the room with you and very funny. I love Terry Pratchett's books (was luck to get my copy of The Truth signed by the great man himself) but TCOM is the hardest book to start with and I've know it to put people off, I myself was undecided after reading it and thought do I, don't I when picking up The Light Fantastic, soooooo glad I did though.

Also; his widow has released a couple of novels herself quite recently, she seems to have quite a bit of talent herself!

His entire collection is the pride and joy of my book shelf. I take it you're another fan? Good to see! Not come across someone else who knows him before Indeed I am! 'Legend' and 'Waylander' are among my favorite books of all time I've read Legend Fascinating thing about 'Legend' is that the whole The entire Nadir army-storming-Dros-Delnoch-thing is a metaphor for Gemmell's fight against cancer, from which he was suffering at the time and which ultimately, and sadly, caused his death. Also; his widow has released a couple of novels herself quite recently, she seems to have quite a bit of talent herself!" It wasn't my usual choice. The book belonged to my ex. It was actually better than I expected

"I only ask because for 8 months of the year I am restricted to the books of academia, so for the 4 months I am not I enjoy the odd trashy novel but more often than not I like to go for something historical... So I am currently reading The darkest hour by Barbara Erskine .. Over to you lot .. Likewise, but my studies mean I'm always reading something to do with history. Still, I'm really enjoying David Gemmell's Troy trilogy at the moment. Well worth a read. Did you ever read any of the Drenai series of his books? I've read them all. I was 14 and just about to go on my first (and to date, only) holiday abroad, with my foster parents; the bloke basically threw a copy of it my way and I spent half the holiday reading it. So when I got back to blighty he gave me the other of the drenai series.

"I'm still on Me Before You, hope to finish it this weekend. The film is pretty decent to be fair, don't mind a chick flick once in a while. Not currently reading anything at present but very tempted to start the Game of Thrones books!" I bought GOT for hubby all published ones and started reading them myself before watching GOT on DVD - not normally my thing but now can't wait for season 6 to come out on DVD ( don't have Sky Atlantic )

"I'm reading the Shannara Series. " Be sure to check out the Word and the Void trilogy before you read the Genises of Shannara books. Not essential reading but does help tie it all in, and really good books in thier own right
