I sent my mother some pictures of Marc and I around the UK. She said that I look great in bright colors but that I'm drab and miserable looking in black, white, and grey.

I didn't ask for the assessment, but at least now I know

Can always count on mothers to be harsh, huh? "Mom, what did you think of that 100 year old church we saw?" "Oh, it was fine, but why do you insist on wearing brown? You look horrible and miserable."

I had my 'colours done' years ago and my best ones apparently are turquoise (nice) and muddy sludgy colors like khaki and mustard (not so nice). I wear a lot of black whether it suits me or not!

Apparently, with my colouring, I'm meant to wear autumnal colours but when I wear purple I get lots of compliments. Definitely can't wear black anymore as I look washed out! lol

it was a trendy book about 20 yrs ago which matched your hair/skin type/eye colur etc...then said which colours would suit you...spawned a bunch of 'consultants' who you could pay to tell you what the book said...big fad at the time..

About 30 years ago you could book a 'party' with your friends and a colour consultant came along and analysed you all. I think we were categorized into summer, spring etc. The idea was that the right colors made your complexion radiant and your eyes sparkle. Apparently it's all the rage again with company called Colour me Beautiful.

My mother says exactly the same but the other way round. I've always loved bright colours, fuschia, turquoise, lime, bright red, orange etc. Apparently as a "lady of a certain age" I should be sticking to a neutral palatte with black, white, beige and greys. I must admit I do quite fancy the idea of a capsule wardrobe where everything will tone.

When I had my colours done I was allegedly a "winter" person. I didn't see it....

Blue, black, red and green. I think I usually wear the colours that I love, rather than my my best colour. The right green is awesome but I find it difficult to get and so I underuse it. I'm not sure that everyone appreciates it either.

I think blue probably suits me best but I wouldn't predominantly stick to that colour because it's not my favourite. Im not really into keeping to colours that suit or compliment each other, matching colours etc. I like colours and bold prints that clash.

I am drawn to pinks, purples, gold and silver
