I'm guessing the two of you don't have an Gmail account. Gmail sorts out the spam, promotions etc. from the rest.

yeah i tend to read the important ones but can see from the header that most i don't need to open.

i just leave it, gmail seems to have really good spam filters and i haven't seen any spam for well over a year now probably a few years.

That's the problem though. We're not asking them to whisper magic words in our ear. Just not clog our inbox with one word messages or read our profiles to work out we have height preferences. I bulk deleted at 3am this morning and am now sat at over 1100 messages. I suppose it depends on what you see as hot because clearly others are seeing different to yourself!

Does the OP mean messages received that I haven't read? If so its none as I read all three earlier when I logged on.
