Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I think David Pickard, the new head of BBC Proms has put together a great programme for this year.

The Strictly prom was fantastic, I've enjoyed the choral and gospel proms and we've only just begun.

Anyone else tuning in or going?

I tried that via Virgin Media digital cable and just found the sound quality horrible....and went back to FM. Whatever data rate they are using, the digital gets very confused when multiple instruments are playing at the same time, or when several voices are singing in harmony.

I like digital TV...but not digital audio.

Hearing loss might well make it more difficult. My hearing is unusually good and I am a trained musician so it is possible I pick up on these things more than others.

As long as you enjoy the music, it's good.

"Proms in the park...

Frankie Valli and the four seasons

Are you there? Has it stopped raining there?

I wish... I was in London this time last year to see rod Stewart et al in Hyde park on the Sunday but I'm not a huge fan of Elton John so didn't bother this year "

The wife and I will be there tomorrow for Elton John...and I've wanted to see Madness for a looooong time now. Weather forecast looks good for once.

How wonderful to be there and how wonderful for him to be chosen.

I saw one of the children in a special concert at the RAH earlier in the summer and it is oh so special.

I sang at the schools Prom at the RAH when I was 13. I remember Jerusalem was amazing and Zadok the priest incredibly high.

FANTASTIC!

Nothing quite like singing together (even if it's in your living room with the telly).

Jerusalem to make me cry now.

Great night and it has been a really good season. I'm so glad I recorded so many of them to listen to again in the coming months.

My Mum and Dad used to love this. Must admit I quite enjoyed it tonight. The choir singing Shakespeare, I think, were fantastic.

"I loathe music. Used to buy silence on juke boxes. "

You should buy a recording of John Cage's 4'33" then! You'll love it!

So many Proms I would have loved from Quincy Jones to Haitink conducting Mahler!

But at least I heard the last night on the car radio! Crazily slow cello solo in the Wood! Played it myself many times bug not that slowly! But it worked!

And wow! That tenor! Bloody hell! What a voice! Not many of that quality around! Nailed all those top Cs like it was the easiest thing in the world! I've worked with some top British operatic singers before but he's on a totally different stratosphere! Stunning!

Great to see so many people in here engaged with the proms.
