"Ladies ... How do you find somewhere who will do a Hollywood wax ? And is it mortifying when having it done ? " I have just got back in from having one. I had my first one a couple of years ago; I just asked my usual leg and eyebrow waxer and she does it. All of the beauticians at my regular salon do. And it isn't mortifying; they've seen it all before. I told her the first time I hadn't had it done before and she'd have to talk me through the whole positioning thing; it was fine and I loved the result. I now even flip over at the end so she can get at the last little bit.

" One of the waxers there likes clients to wear paper knickers when she does it. It takes longer that way though.

"I'm a waxer, we really don't care because we've seen it before. Probably several times that day! It's not pleasant but it's not horrific, and it's worth it IMO. Way better results than shaving. You can take a couple of painkillers an hour before to give you a hand, and I'd avoid just before your period because I find I'm much more tender then. Make sure they use hot wax rather than warm. The difference isn't in the temperature (yup, I know) but in the technique. Hot wax sets and is pulled off as a solid rather than with strips - way better results and less sore for your delicate bits. Honestly OP you won't regret it! " That's really good to know I really want to try it again but my god it hurt like hell when I was going to do it first time and that was 4 yeas ago I just stuck to shaving now xx

You'll probably have to let the hair grow a little as the wax needs something to cling onto. You need to find someone you're comfortable with, the woman who does mine is lovely but very matter of fact which I prefer.

"If only there was a cream that could take the itch away instantly. " I sometimes use Lush Dream Cream after epilating, which works really well for me.

"I wax as a profession too and honestly there I'd no need to be embarrassed, we're too busy concentrating on the hair growth direction etc to be looking at your actual bits! I wax myself all the time and am used to it now, I find paracetamol definitely helps prior to waxing. I've tried shaving but I can't stand the itching, drives me crazy! If only there was a cream that could take the itch away instantly. " Just slap some aftershave on afterwards...That's why us guys always use it, if it smells nice that's always a bonus
