Space Aliens .. Are they among us?

Jump to newest

Well, are they?

Chances are in the massiveness of the Universe there is other intelligent life out there. It's almost a statistical certainty.

But are they so advanced to be able to have travelled here and visited us? Are they among us now? Are we evolved from them (where's the missing link?) Have we recovered alien bodies from UFO crashes or is that all a cover for secret military projects? And so many other questions!

So - are they here right now!?

As ever a swinging forum is clearly THE place to settle this age old question once and for all

One day reading the fab forums is enough to convince anyone there are aliens integrated in society.....

If you've ever watched Battlestar Galactica, that might settle your curiosity.

We are limited by our language, so our perceptions are finitely boundaried by our material conscience and limited senses. We cannot perceive extraterrestrial beings unless they are likened to us.

Eg. Our eyes cannot see all frequencies of light. Alien beings might exist in the infra red spectra.........

Anyone had a 'Men in Black' visit? Or seen a UFO?

I'm a natural cynic about all things supernatural and space-alieny unless I witness anything first hand. I'd love to see a UFO and I used to spend hours looking up at the night sky hoping to but all I've ever seen is meteorites and satellites ..

Lots of interesting stuff on t'interweb about it - some farcical and fanciful and clearly the work of delusional nut jobs - but other stuff a lot more plausible.

I *want* to believe but not sure I do... I mean surely it would be obvious by now to us all if they were visiting?

Ooh sexy space aliens! I like that idea! I had visions of 8 legged green entities with suckers and goo everywhere, somehow an alien invasion has a little more appeal about it now

They can fuck off, we're full

But for real I definitely think they're out there, the Men in Black also, I just think the governments are hiding them, especially USA and Russia.

I read one mad conspiracy theory that they're gonna use the alien tech to fake an invasion to unite everyone

I firmly believe, that in all that vastness of space, there has to be other life forms. Maybe not intelligent, maybe not simple, bit there has to be...somewhere.

I don't believe in this nonsense that we have been visited by aliens. If true why are they hiding? There might be life out there but they they are not intelligent enough to travel vast distances

The physicist Enrico Fermi once asked 'Where is everybody?'.

Fermis paradox asks why we have no convincing evidence of alien life considering the size of the universe, the amount of stars and probable corresponding planets.

As far as I'm aware there has never been a convincing explanation.

One theory states, given the age of our universe, if intelligent life did exist it's possible they've already gone extinct.

Plus space is just so vast man...

It's not just the distances in space but in time also. Entire civilisations might have come and gone in our immediate neighbourhood, or might evolve in the future.

Fermi's paradox ... well there might be evidence all over the place, but given how huge the universe is and how much of it we've explored, it's hardly surprising if we've not found any.

If there is ET life relatively near us right now, I think the likelihood is that we are related to them.

forgot i saw something the other night. 5 red lights in the sky, they were flying one way, stopped then went back the other way. i was gonna google what kind of craft that might have been but forgot.

there's no statistical probability to me because we haven't found a single thing in what we can observe at this time. although the amount of things on this planet that live in all the different environments here makes me wonder why we haven't.

google isn't finding anything. anyone know what i saw?

it was a v formation, all 5 lights moved together like it was one craft, and they looked like they were stuck on each other. imagine the end of something that had 5 boosters and that's all it looked like, just the boosters.

Us earthlings think we know everything about space. The amount of knowledge we have about it is equivelant to a speck of dust on a pin head. The wonders that are out there are beyond our wildest dream.

Of the trillions and trilllions of planets and everything there must be another planet that is the double of Earth,it's just that we haven't found it yet.In the far far future we WILL find another planet that supports life wether it be microbe or something more advanced than us.

Just lets hoe they are not hostile and end up becoming like the "War of the Worlds film.

No. It's so unlikely that they would have travelled this far as an advanced race Imo, appears to be the common sense answer that I'll stick with.

It would be a very sad case for the universe if our planet was the most advanced culture in it so here's hoping there's intelligent life out there

Well according to claude junker (president of the EU) there is.

he made a speech infront of all the EU MPS in that chamber they hold debates in few days after brexit referendum.

in that speech he said he had met, spoke with, listened to leaders from other planets and they are concerned.

it was all over alternate news sources at the time, I was surprised it didnt make main news even if it was just to make fun of the guy as main stream newa usualy likes to do when important people say somthing thats serious or ccompletely crazy.

Was quite bizarre if you watch the clip. ..some people say he simply used the wrong word and should be countrys not planets.

but make of it what you will

As for me, yes I definitely believe in far more intelligent life out there in the universe and also a lot closer to home.

Brighton - even Hove!

*sings*

..."Whenever life gets you down, Mrs.Brown

And things seem hard or tough

And people are stupid, obnoxious or daft

And you feel that you've had quite enough

Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolving

And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour

That's orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it's reckoned

A sun that is the source of all our power

The sun and you and me and all the stars that we can see

Are moving at a million miles a day

In an outer spiral arm, at forty thousand miles an hour

Of the galaxy we call the 'milky way'

Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars

It's a hundred thousand light years side to side

It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand light years thick

But out by us, it's just three thousand light years wide

We're thirty thousand light years from galactic central point

We go 'round every two hundred million years

And our galaxy is only one of millions of billions

In this amazing and expanding universe

The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding

In all of the directions it can whizz

As fast as it can go, the speed of light, you know

Twelve million miles a minute and that's the fastest speed there is

So remember, when you're feeling very small and insecure

How amazingly unlikely is your birth

And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in space

'Cause there's bugger all down here on Earth..."

" Are we evolved from them (where's the missing link?) "
.

That's one of those really big questions that's been solved but didn't really make the news!.

Over the last 30 years they've found hundreds of fragments of missing links, they've even found several intact bodies!.

.

.

.

The big question is actually how the fusion of the two chromosomes occurred I think it's 32 and 33(it's been awhile since I read about it)
