Gosport

Well I think would would all accept that rocket based weapons systems and even fireworks are dangerous but now it seems even the humble spicy, salad leaf can be deadly.

On a serious note after a significant number of e-coli cases the current guidance is that unless it is marked as ready to eat all salad leaves require washing prior to consumption.

Central

I meant to post a warning about this.

Several deaths here already. And many more seriously ill.

If you contract EColi you may not know for several days.

I am avoiding salads at restaurants and will not buy prepared salads in store. Even if it says safe without washing I view that to mean safer not to buy.

Chips are safer btw.

East Sussex

How vigorous will washing need to be to get rid of e-coli? A quick rinse under the cold tap won't sort it surely.

Pre packed salad is washed in a mild bleach solution apparently.

Rockets aside - Gosport is a fab place to be in this weather

After careful consideration I am adopting the Roman army method of only drinking beer or wine with well cooked food.

Bloody knew that salad and water were out to get me
