I've just had a little barefoot walk on the beach followed by my first paddle of the year, and now I feel as if any problems I had have been wiped away and I feel mentally refreshed, and a feeling that's a bit like an endorphin rush.

So where's your peaceful place? Why is it special to you?

Ooo hippy thread.

I have two. One I can't get to often anymore.

In Greenwich park, at the top of the hill by the observatory. London opens out in front of you, it's beautiful. If you go there early morning or late evening when no more is there, it's really peaceful. I miss it.

My other one is my bed. Where I can lie in darkness with my headphones on a drift away with music.

I'm with you OP - I can stand on the edge of the ocean and just stand there, feet and ankles in the water, for ages.. Just taking in the sounds of the waves, the seagulls, enjoying the smell of the sea and, ideally, a warm (not too hot) sun and gentle breeze for good measure.

Very theraputic ..

As I don't live near the coast it's not something I can do at will sadly

Have had a few weekends at quiet Northumberland beaches of late, sea has even been quite warm in places....

Otherwise Kielder/Bellingham Northumberland for the stars..... can see the Milky Way on a clear night and lots of quiet spots by river...heaven

I used to sit on the rocks at trebarwith stand in cornwall and watch the sun go down, so peaceful, quiet and absolutely stunning.

I was brought up by the seaside! I always I had an issue! My walks in to the sand and looking to the sea with the moon reflection, always made feel Revitilize and renewed.I really miss the seaside.

I used to walk up onto the moors behind my parents when I lived there, it was so quiet and you could see for miles. Now I've taken to sitting on my balcony at night and watching the city lights. Anywhere high up I find calming.

There's a beach near here thats all pebbles and rocks, and I love going down there when it's windy and stormy.

It's special to me because that's where I spent a lot of time when I was pregnant with my twins, one of whom doed shortly after birth.

I feel closer to him there than anywhere else, not even his grave.

At sea sails all set engine off and auto pilot steering. Then I'm able to just watch the water go by and think history connects I could be venturing out into the unknown world if I was born the same time as culumbus.

Show off ! I am jealous !

My peaceful place would be a path in the forest by where I live, there is a spot by the river, I often lie there, listen to the birds and look at the clouds moving...

I'm originally from Torquay down in Devon so beaches are always a good place for me as it reminds me of home, but the shower is my place to relax and wash away my cares (and the daily stink)

Might sound mad but my peacefully place is in my car. Around this time of night when no one's about. A random drive no music just the sound of a 6 cylinder engine purring away. Chills me out

Walking through woods and forests, it must be the wood elf in me. The colour green is relaxing and feel almost at one with the world.

Another is sexual.

Definitely the beach for us. Walking on the sand bare feet. Listening to the waves. Feeling the warm sun on our skin.

Love it

Fistral. When there's waves that crash against the beach so you feel the spray.

Or better still sat on a board looking back at the beach as you rise and fall as the waves pass, makes me feel at one with nature.

Locally, a walk with my dog in the local wood always clears my mind and puts a smile on my face whatever the weather.
