I'm not judging just curious.

This actually could mean serving as opposed to vets. I can see the point as attitude tends to be the order of the day.

I work with many former service personnel some civilianise better than others. Some find it difficult and thus harder to fit in unless the conversation is completely one sided.

Bad experiences - won't meet them, and won't employ them at work either - they seem to have had humanity and respect for other people totally drilled out of them...

Awfully sad to say that - but bitter experience teaches a hard lesson....
