Hi.

Any real cyclist out there? Road, CX or preferably MTB? I frequent the north doing natural rides and trail centres. I just generally love outdoors activities. Is there any groups or mountain bikers on here?

Nick x

BPW is really good for a UK bike park. Do Dalby & Llandegla quite a bit. Never done stiniog, is it worth it? Brenin was good but too far for what it was.

These days I only commute (15 miles a day) but I previously raced tt, track, cyclocross for many yrats along with occasional MTB road and circuit races.

I have no idea what a 'real' cyclist is and whether I am one. it's a term I hate and thinks screams elitism

Stiniog is brilliant, you need full face helmet, knee and elbow pads if you want to do th black runs though. Some really technical features. Good day out fo the £30 uplift service.

Haha, poor choice of words. My apologies. Meant real cyclists as in who actually ride rather thanbuy a bike and throw it in the garage.

There is an app called Meetup Groups. There is a group on there called Leeds Mountain biking.

Fair enough. There is a forum I know of where anyone who doesn't race and isn't in a club is dismissed as not being a "real" cyclist, it's a real pet hate.

Thats why left Bikeradar years ago. I was pretty much given grief for asking questions. Alot of Mtb'ers I know are also like it. In the states bikes are seen as a simple piece of sports equipment, no snobbery or elitism! How it should be.
