Blocks from the forum are nothing to do with meet compatibility it's purely a way to say, you've said something and based on that I think you're a dick so I'm blocking you to show much of a dick I think you are.

I guess you can get a feel from some folk (not like that you filthy minded lot!

) from how they are in the forums.

Most "filtering" would be from a private chat though.

No, the Forums are a small percentage of FAB users and tend to be a vocal minority in their outlook.

I have lost count of the amount of times we have met people at parties and socials that we got on well with, then when you friend them on FAB and read the profile you realise without meeting them first it us unlikely you would message them based on the profile.

Because forums do not convey feeling behind the words it is easy to mis-construe what someone is saying depending on our own state of mind at the time.

When the internet and real life meet, it rare the two match up.

Trouble with the forums, and anything written really, is context. I can be a naturally witty (sarcastic) individual at times. Trouble is what I think is funny someone else's interpretation of what i said could be two very different things.

I don't know.

You shouldn't really block someone for having a different opinion, but them's the breaks I suppose.

Obviously if I said something like "say what you want about Hitler, but he had a go......" Then sure, block away.

But I never say that.

Not necessarily. People are reactionary and can react differently to the norm,depending on their mood,morale and tolerance level on the day. I'm normally very indifferent to most stuff on here,but on a bad day my veil of nicety can slip and the demons are let loose. They are usually held down by my angels of mercy

It's a good way to find out info, helpful topics and be nosy

Plus you can see a bit more of people's personalities in an open discussion , good and bad

filtering out the who to talk to and who to avoid I guess

I agree there, however you are not one who i see to be nasty or aggressive.Some are for the sake of it ,we can all get caught up sometimes in subjects we feel passionate about .

Ive met many forum users through socials, either large ones or 1 to 1 ive met very few with other intentions. I meet mostly people that have never used the forums. I block for many reasons there are some forum users id not want to be anywhere near in real life and im sure some feel like that about me.

I would never judge anybody by what they write on here

I have met loads of people from off the forums in real life at clubs, socials etc and most are nothing like in real life what they are like on here

I've also had a few people who have blocked me on here who after talking to me in real life have said....oh your quite nice really aren't you

It's really easy to take people the wrong way on here

I hope people don't make judgements on forum posts as I know I've been a bit narky the last few days. I think it's the heat - either that or I'm going through the change

On the whole I accept that people can be very different in real life than on a forum so unless they're a total cockwomble in here I'll base my judgements on any 121 convos we have if ever we decide to meet

Generally speaking we've not had any meaningful conversations on the forums with anyone who would have been a candidate for a meet anyway. So not actively.

But certainly we would, if someone is a dick on here we wouldn't meet them whether they ticked our boxes or not... Well not unless they were the kind who enjoyed a hate fuck
