"Actually having thought about it a bit more isn't this slightly strange? I take it you've never actually met yet (given that say you have 'intentions to meet'), yet he knows where you live (hopefully you've told him your address in the past otherwise he's sought it out). Now I could be wrong here but I'm speculating that he bought the flowers hoping you'd meet today - when you didn't he gave them anyway by still coming right up to your house .. Now I'm sure he is lovely and well meaning and everything but the fact that he was around and about near your house (unless he lives just around the corner anyway) is a bit, well, disconcerting isn't it? Well to a neutral onlooker looking in it does, just a little. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe it's just me, but if someone did that to me I might be just a little freaked .. ? Forgive me if I'm speaking totally out of turn here ... " ![]()

"Not all young single mates are childish and immature like some people think they are. I've been chatting to a young guy for a couple of months now with the intentions of meeting him. Today he asked me for a social drink which sadly I had to decline as I needed more notice to get a sitter in to sit with my mother as I'm her full time carer. He messaged me earlier telling me to look on my doorstep which I did to find a beautiful bouquet of lillies there. I was gobsmacked to say the least. When I messaged him and thanked him and asked why he had left them, he just said he wanted to put a smile on my face because I was such a nice person and because of some health issues I'm going through. I thought that was really sweet and kind of him. So people there really is some nice mature genuine young guys out there ![]() If someone I'd only chatted with & never met, left me flowers on my doorstep. I'd personally find it a bit weird. It would make me wonder if they would just turn up unexpectedly on another occasion. That's just my opinion. I'm a bit of a cynical buggar at times.

"I think that's quite sweet! I'm a huge fan of random acts of kindness and being able to bring a little smile to someone's face is priceless. So, if someone were to happen to leave an Indian meal outside my door....I wouldn't be upset.... ![]() Good idea, just going to find the takeaway menu and post what I fancy. I look forward to my meal being delivered ![]()

"Don't apologise for posting this. If you think he's a great guy that's all that matters. Of course people will try to look for drama in everything they read, just make sure not to take their opinion personally." Some people ![]()

"Can I clarify that he sent the flowers to cheer me up. I'm going through some serious health issues at the moment and not feeling that great. There is no stalkish motives behind it at all. The reason he didn't think deliver them personally is because I live with my mum and he thought other family could pissibly be here visiting. All I was trying to say is that there are some nice single guys out there Wished now I never posted it " Some just like to see the negative in everything. I thought it was a lovely post ![]() ![]()

I live with my mum as her carer too. You never get a day off and its a 24 hour a day job. You don't have time to be ill! I'm struggling with my own health too and it really makes a difference when someone does something nice for you

I thought it was a lovely post ![]() ![]() ![]() So did I once the OP had explained. I wasn't trying to be negative but, with limited info up front, it did set some initial alarm bells ringing. I'd rather be seen as negative and sound a cautionary note if there was genuine cause for concern than sit back and say nothing. But as it happens, as the OP explained there's a very legitimate explanation so I concur - what a lovely thoughtful gesture from the young lad! Top marks to him! ![]()
