As in ...

'I've had him' or 'I've had her'

It just doesn't sit right with me

Like it somehow devalues / cheapens the meet and/or the person you've met

Am I becoming sensitive in my middle age ?

it is some peoples thing....it's not mine.

i am sensitive and i dont mind admitting it either. i value the people i see and spend time with. sometimes i feel this attitude is the way they cope with this scene in their minds. they usually have characteristics that i can spot and thus avoid x

South East Midlands NOT

Is it not just a shortened version of "i've had sex with him/her"?

Does that sentence offend you also?

"Is it not just a shortened version of "i've had sex with him/her"?

It doesn't offend me, but it hardly makes for worthwhile comment either

In the context of Fab 'I've met with him/her' seems perfectly adequate

In terms of 'real life' it wouldn't be something worthy of mention

Ah, well perhaps it's the people who feel the need to comment who actually offend you? Personally apart from to my fab girlfriends I don't feel the need to talk to anyone about anyone i've met!

I never write anything sexual in a verification nor would i like it if the gentleman did the same towards me. I don't sleep with every guy I attend a social with. If I do then I see it as the sex is only between the both of us. No one else needs to know details. After all what I enjoy with one person, doesn't necessarily mean I'll enjoy it with the next guy I may meet. I think it's important to just let others know whether my meet is easy going, comfortable to be alone with and if he looks like his pics.

I've had........

Implies something is done to someone rather than the experience shared.

It's all contextual and relationship dependent....

I find it vulgar.

I agree it is so derogatory.

I much prefer to say 'I slung one up her'.

Or 'Was hanging out the back of that last night'.

Listen to Phil Ochs 'I've had her'

Released in 60's or 70's ... bit long but revealing to a degree.

Like the expression, I'd have a go on that.

Makes someone sound like a fairground attraction.

It's not a term I like either. Seems to be about the act, not about the person

Somewhere in North Norfolk

To me it's about possession, taking someone and using them. It's not a way someone would refer to a mutually fun time.

It's not a nice way to refer to sex with anyone.

Ownership in a D/s sense is a bit different. That's ownership with respect.

There's no respect in the "I've had her" sense.
