I am no fashionista but in my opinion , if that counts for much, a singlet can only be carried off by a gentleman with a certain physique.

And then he would only wear it as a leisure garment when on the beach or perhaps when excersising. Under no circumstances should he wear a garment such as this to the pub unless he wants to be the subject of ridicule.
