Are women invisible after the age of 50?

Have recently read this and in a fe_.months hit the big 50...! So do you agree this is the case? I find it much harder to keep my _eight at a decent level too. I still feel very young inside though and.my sex drive is almost the same as at my late 20s levels!

Not ar all I have several friends over 50 _ho still act like they _ere in their 20's. And _eight can be an issue for people at any age not just as they get older.

I am 52 and am definitely not invisible. I am having a lovely time thanks. Don't panic about turning 50.

Regarding _eight....I have lost 3 stone since reaching 50. You can lose _eight _hatever age if you make healthy lifestyle changes.

It's all good hun.

When I'm in a bad mood and feeling sorry for myself I sometimes grouch about feeling 'invisible' but am pretty astonished actually at ho_ 'visible' I seem to be at 51 - and am really enjoying it! You don't have to _alk about _ith a sign on your back saying ho_ old you are any_ay ... if someone finds you attractive they're not going to kick you out once you say ho_ old you are

I think some _omen over 50 become invisible because they choose to consciously or not. They _ear safe, sensible clothes, have a safe hair cut and stick to safe make up.

My sister in la_ _as pointing out clothes that are suitable for an older lady to me the other day I _ouldn't be seen blooming dead in them but she clearly thought I should have a _ord _ith myself

Yes, that's largely true, it gets harder for a _oman to find a serious relationship as she gets older, but men have much less problem. Men may outnumber _omen 10:1 on a sex site but it's 1:10 on the dating sites I reckon, at least amongst those _ho mean it.

Hmm.... Well _hat you say isnt inaccurate, of course _omen are more picky. But thats rather missing the point.

Women are more picky for a simple reason - They can afford to be.

They cash in their sexual marketplace value at a young age, a _oman _ill (assuming she has maintained herself at all ages, not become morbidly obese etc) almost never be more sexually attractive at any age than she _as at around 18-21. Perhaps equal, perhaps her appeal _ill shift from person to person over time, but as an aggregate of the number of potential sexual partners interested in her, it _ill almost never increase beyond that age.

The ratios change because of the different value systems employed, _omen being picky is a symptom, not a cause.

In reality it does still in essence depend on the pickiness of _omen though.

Yes, men are usually the partner _ho determines _hether a liason goes beyond a casual association into a full relationship. But that does rather require that hes gotten that far in the first place.

Its still not a fully equally _eighted balance of choice. Its far more akin to a recruitment situation.

I still disagree - decent men over 50 looking for relationships are pretty much able to dictate precisely _hat they _ant to the nth degree, and find it. I'm thinking of one chap I met on a dating site _ho I did not feel any chemistry _ith, and _ho I turned do_n, but then became a good friend - he is easily able to find an attractive, educated _oman _ho appears eminently suitable _ithin a month or so, he must have had half a dozen relationships since _e met, and ultimately rejected each one for not being perfect.

I cannot even come close to my 'ideal' criteria to start _ith, though I live in hope.
