Have a cry. Stay in bed with a tub of Haagan Daaz for at least a week. Watch Bridget Jones's diary a few times and sleep.

Repeat this process until the sadness phase passes and you start feeling hopeful

when you have had more life experiences you learn to put them into some kind of order and get over stuff - when youre young and those breakups seem like the end of it all looking back you think why did i ever even care

I don't think there's a conclusive answer to this question as people deal with things differently, and each situation is at a different time in your life. So I've reacted differently to break ups.

The only thing that will work is time. If your 'friend' is that broken hearted no amount of sex or beer or ice cream will help.

Be a mate. Talk to him. Let him cry, shout, scream, laugh. But most of all be there for him.

I got over my ex by joining fab and hooking up with some total babes. Boosted my shattered confidence and helped me see I wasn't as disgusting as he made me feel lol.

Huh? What planet are you guys on - you can fall madly in love with someone very quickly - whether that matures into a lasting love based on a deep 'knowing' of the other person after all the chemical reactions die down is a separate matter, but the 'falling' takes no time at all sometimes.

Two months is not long though and I would get over it quickest by meeting other people!
