New research evidence shows that people like to pursue finding out information that will likely cause them unhappiness.

What have you done, to get to the bottom of something, knowing that you'll be unhappy, when you get your answer?

What would you definitely seek out, as you'd 'have' to know, perhaps because you'd not feel rested, until you knew the answers?

Clicked on the dating site chat button that my ex had uploaded on our pc, I knew it would be bad.....and then I discovered what I had already known deep down. He was a numpty.

It's also why the news doesn't feature kittens, unless they are being maimed or eaten. We're not that interested in the nice stuff. We like it but don't really seek it out.

Except when it's easy and then YouTube comes to the fore.

I think for some people and I can recognise when I've done this, there's almost a compulsion that drives us to know something, even though we know it will bring displeasure. It's part of that thing I think that people think of as 'closure' to a situation.

I did look up my son's father recently. Seeing the picture of him and his partner 20+ years since I last saw him was interesting. He hasn't aged well.
