Colin Murray resigns in protest against Newscorp

Very rare to see someone take an action which is purely motivated by a moral stand. As a lifelong Liverpool fan and campaigner for Hillsborough Murray today resigned from Talksport where he has been hugely successful as he refuses to work for the organisation that owns the Sun. I applaud his stand and hope he is successful finding a similar role.

Just seen his tweet. Good for him for sticking to his principles

TalkSport also haven't renewed Stan Collymores contract either, all change!

It has been a tremendously successful station and takes itself far less seriously than 5Live. I'm sure it will be fine but Murray has built built strong audience and Collymore has also been been go job. Both opinionated but ha ma appeal.

Collymore is nothing but a thug who shouldn't be given air time

i'm sure they owned talksport when he first started working there, why has it taken him so long to decide he cant work for them as they own the sun?

News Corp bought the owners of Talksport (Wireless Group) last month

They will probably be running adverts and competition etc with the paper now

gaunt does a podcast thing... if you like him you'll love it...but i just found it unlistenable... its like he goes about every chip on his shoulder from everyone who's sacked him for 3 hours a day

Kelvin Mackenzie started the station then sold it - the parent company has been 30% owned by News Corp for a while but now a full takeover.

Fair play to Colin Murray sticking up for his principles. The Two Mikes will move from their overnight show and take over between 10-1 again I'd imagine.

Respect to Murray

Though the sun was just getting fed of lies from the police when it published after the Hillsborough disaster

Agreed. A little bit fishy. He writes for the Metro too(or did). And seeing as that's published by the same group which routinely stirs up hate crimes against minorities/objectifies women/ sucks the cock of Royalty then he needs to get a grip frankly.

Saying that he's quite a gifted interviewer.
