Ok. So what's with the "hey" messages?

I get loads of these and I don't tend to respond.

Some people on the other hand out a lot of effort in to a message and I try to respond even if it is just a polite no.

Lazy guys are making it much more difficult for the guys who are interested in more than just sending a dick pic!

I would say the opposite is the case.

The lazy guys are making the good guys stand out.

Why does anyone think that would get them a response?

If I come across a profile I like I have a read of the bio so I can say something to engage in conversation.....

I love a good profile.

"Fill in later" when they joined a year ago.....

Nothing I can work with on those ones...

"since when did hey or hi stop being a conversation starter?"

In my opinion it's dull and I have written a profile which has many conversation starters.

For me it just starts the

"Hey"

"Hey"

"How are you"

"I'm good, you"

"Yeah, me too. Up to much next weekend"

Blah blah...

Boring conversation.

"since when did hey or hi stop being a conversation starter?"

It hasn't it just shows that you are to lazy to write a decent message. Not read the persons profile and have no idea what to put. Or just sending a mass of hey and hi to a load of women hoping one will reply.

It didn't. But therein lies the problem.

So many start with just hi or hey that it starts to sound very unoriginal i guess.

Seems to be a little backwards.

Someone wants to engage with me but I'm the one left thinking how to make a dull starter entertaining?

Not above me at all if that's what you were trying to imply.

When I am interested in someone I will ensure they're aware of it and I will engage in a more interesting conversation so that I can grab their attention.

I think that shows a lot more effort than "hi"

Exactly. So give someone something to work with or show them that you actually have a bit craic and the conversation will flow.

It doesn't take much effort to read the profile, peruse (ahem! Perve) the pics and read their wants....

A simple compliment works better than a lazy "Hi"

We've had some really great introduction messages, but I'm happy with a simple

"hello I'm _____, I've enjoyed reading your profile and looking at your sexy photos. I understand that you are looking for _____. Here is my pic, have a look at my profile and please get in touch if you would like to chat further"

Now I'm aware that the above is often a cut and paste, but it still shows much more effort than two bloody letters. I'm much more inclined to respond if they have included a face pic and have a reasonably well written profile too.

I am shallow when it comes to this site. If a guy just says "Hi" and attaches a face pic and I think he is cute then I will engage. If not, then I will reply with a no thanks.

I do think the one word messages are completely lacking in effort or interest but I can't pretend that it matters to me more than a nice face. However, the conversation has to pick up from there - it won't progress on the face pic alone.

If Marc sees a "Hi" message then he just deletes it without any response (I prefer a "thanks but no thanks"). He says he would never send one and expect a response and he responds in kind.

I don't even read them. I look for ones where people have used a few words and go to them

I should delete more....my mailbox management is whack....
