Deleting messages

One thing I don't understand is why people delete messages if you're still talking to them?

Is there a limit on inbox size or anything?

I always feel they have something to hide/aren't genuine when this happens or is this just me?

Not sure if there is a limit. But some women get hundreds of messages a day and deleting a already replied to message saves them having to delete 100's messages later.

I delete messages all the time and have nothing to hide. It's easier to order my inbox with only a few messages and if I keep the last message I can read back through the string.

You can only see the first so many (75?) messages so it's necessary to delete as you go sometimes because otherwise one conversation can push everything else off the page.

I try to do that but I rarely manage to keep on top of it. I have to spend hours working through deleting old messages sometimes and I invariably find people I've lost track of or meant to reply to but lost.

You can only see the last 50 messages.. even as a gold supporter.

Once read and replied to, there's no reason to keep them, unless it was something in the message that you liked

Glad I'm not the only one who calls it CDO... it MUST be in order FFS

Why not?

Site supporters can read the message thread, the previous messages even after they have been deleted.

Also if someone saves your message to the save folder, then delete from the main message page, you'd see it deleted not as saved.

We had 3000 messages at the weekend and we can only see the last 50 or so on the screen . Fab doesn't have a scroll function to see below that top 50. So we have to read and then delete so the others move back onto the screen.

Send your self 50 messages and then you can see the problem

Thanks for all the responses I was just a little unsure as to why but I get why this would be the case now. Thanks

Sometimes I'm quite ruthless and just press the 'delete all' button. It's tricky because my CDO and my hoarding tendencies are in massive conflict at times!

We need to delete as we can only see the last few messages. If we are chatting to someone I often delete after I've replied. Nothing we are hiding just that otherwise we fail to reply to other members. Some are friends, some are potential playmates and others we are just chatting to! Certainly not hiding anything

I normally just keep the last mail from the person in my inbox - it means I can see when I last chated to them

easier to keep up with your inbox. there's no limit and the site deletes messages automatically at some point.

I delete everything but the latest sent and received. Some of my conversations are with women who live some distance away and will take some time to meet, so it can be days or weeks in between little chat spurts, and I like to be able to scroll down and pick up the conversation.

I don't delete enough but it's definitely more efficient to delete older ones in a thread, if they're not going to be needed again. Earlier messages when chatting with someone usually aren't related to the more important aspects, such as details of meet discussions etc.

I'm not sure when the last time was that I could actually see the start of my inbox - maybe 2 or 3 years back! It's not a particularly smart way for me to manage mail and I'm not a site supporter atm.
